This talk will provide a quick overview of JavaScript for people who already know how to program in an object-oriented language.

This talk will provide a quick overview of JavaScript for people who already know how to program in an object-oriented language. We will cover both JavaScript’s strengths (yes, those do exist!) and its weaknesses. Everything will be put into perspective by comparing JavaScript with other languages (mainly Java and Python) and by providing a glimpse at ECMAScript 6 (code-named ECMAScript.next), the next version of JavaScript that will be finished by 2013.
