Please Note Session Limit: 24 Participants
Let’s really uncover better ways of developing software. Forget about dogma, rules, manifestos, frameworks and processes and unleash your imagination to construct a better way of doing software. In this workshop, you will experience the power of accelerated learning and discovery using LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® to create strategies for innovation and change.
LEGO® Serious Play® is a powerful facilitated approach for using LEGO® to free your imagination by constructing 3-D metaphorical models. Using the LEGO® bricks you will be fully-engaged with hands-on, accelerated learning techniques that allow you to see deeply and gain a meaningful understanding of your imaginative strategies for building better software.
The LEGO® Serious Play® methods are based on the learning theories of Piaget and Papert and were developed by Johann Roos and Bart Victor at the respected International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
If you are curious about using the facilitated LEGO® Serious Play® process to discover strategy, create change, or charter stronger teams this is your chance to try it out with a trained and experienced facilitator.
NOTE: In this workshop you'll receive a quick introduction to the theory behind LEGO® Serious Play®, and you will use the process to explore the real strategic application of uncovering better ways of developing software. This is not a full workshop which can last four hours, a full day or even longer. At the end of our 2:30 hour introduction session you will have your first valuable result, and you'll hear about the ways a full workshop would continue.
If this sounds dry to you, then think of it like this: we’re simply going to play with a lot of cool LEGO®, and while we're having an awesome time doing that through LEGO® Serious Play® we’re going to discover and actually play with new insights into software development.
